I think I hate cable TV

So maybe those are strong words, but can someone explain to me why my cable company keeps changing the channel numbers? I just got use to the new numbers, and woke up this morning to them all being gone.... and new ones have taken their place.

I mean really? Why does it matter if USA is on 441 or 1201? There were already too many channels of "yuck" to sort through to find the few shows I like to watch and now they've added another 600 or so to the mix?

And that's all I have to say about that.....

  1. Simple: It's so they can (A)hide the fact that they've eliminated a channel that you used to watch; or (B) sufficiently muddle the offering that you feel like you might have gottn more channels, thereby justifying the rate hike they also put in place this month.

    Hope you enjoy the show.

P.S. My word verification today is "hypemo" (n.): a state of exaggerated depression, often expressed through donning of dark colors, intensive study of the "Twilight" series, and writing of really, really bad song lyrics. I gave up being Emo; everyone was doing it. Now I'm Hypemo."

  2. This sounds scary. We are using cable now. Is this what we are to expect out here in New Zealand?

My question is; What is the point of having so many channels?
